Kids & Music

Lily Player Piano 10%.jpg
Lily tickling the ivories.

Why was the piano invented? So the musician would have a place to put his beer.

Here's a picture of Lily practising on her new piano - a gift from her grandparents. Lily has such love of music and a tremendous zeal for playing any and all musical instruments. Here's the latest instrument to be added to her collection. To tell you the truth, I prefer she play with them than those lead laden toys from China. And if we have another baby...I'm convinced there will be a star over Bethlehem first...and there is some lead in the piano somewhere, at least it's too big to put in the baby's mouth. And if one of my children ever tries to put a piano in their mouth I'll have their IQ tested before their blood.

You generally don't hear stories about people sucking on pianos.....unelss it's last call and they're really desperate.

Yah, thought the piano was too big for my sons mouth but somehow when he was teething managed to chew off the edges of the piano keys. All of the ivory keys are jagged. So should I have his IQ tested or mine?(He could read at 2and1/2 ...I couldn't)

I'm a piano teacher and author of some wonderful piano stories to encourage young children in piano! Children love stories, and they are a great way to teach important lessons and motivate young girls and boys. I find that most young students who are starting music lessons have lots of questions, and all beginning students must learn how to develop good practice habits. That's why I wrote Piano Bears Musical Storybooks - provide a wonderful way to inspire young piano students and help them succeed. These books use the characters of Little Bear, who is just starting to take piano lessons, his friends and family, and Mrs. Treble Beary, his teacher. In the stories, Little Bear, with the help of his family and friends, learns how to overcome his worries and set positive goals to achieve his musical dream.

In my studio, we give these books to all new students aged 6 to 11 at their first piano lesson. Grandparents love these stories too! Find them at PianoBears.com
